July 4
Today we said "Goodbye" to Peter. After a nice breakfast Peter led us in a devotion focusing on humility. Our focus has been prayer, and several devotions have focused on adding more prayer to our day, continuous prayer, different types of prayer and understanding that prayer is a work in progress for everyone. Our discussion on humility led us back to our discussions about prayer.
We visited the Water Park followed by a stocking up of fireworks. It's nearly 11:00 p.m. and we've had fireworks blasting all around us since dusk. We set off our own pyro show in the church parking lot while wearing glow-in-the-dark glasses compliments of Molly & Connor (thanks friends!!). What a blessing to enjoy our church family, celebrate Independence & share time with Columbus First Methodist folks. All fingers, toes & eyeballs intact. Peace Out, Pam
Today was an awesome day and a sad day. The saddest part was seeing Peter leave after breakfast today. Seeing that bright and hard-working young man leave us, leaves a big hole in our group for the rest of our trip, but he isn't gone since we will see him on Sunday. We are blessed to have Peter come along and be brave fighting bees, working hard on painting, and most importantly are his devotions. For me personally, they really made me think about the Lord and what he has done and really make me dig deep about God and myself. I hope he goes on and continues spreading the word of Christ around to others.
After Peter left, we all made sandwiches and chips and ate lunch downstairs. About an hour later we head on down to the Pawnee Water Park for some fun on slides, Flow Rider (Only Molly did until her contact fell out. But she caught it and didn't lose it), and a long time messing around in the lazy river. We then head over to the firework stand and get some fireworks and sparklers. Getting back to the Outreach center and hang around while Howard and Kate make some delicious burgers (Howard called them "Mostly Burnt Meatballs") with some cut up Watermelon and beans. wrapping up the night with some day light fireworks, breaking for s'mores and watching neighbor's fireworks, and Sandy stopping by with EVEN MORE FIREWORKS for night time along with some sparklers. Howard's favorite was the 40 boxes of Poppers we had. Final day is tomorrow and then a safe drive home Saturday. Your Favorite, Connor.

ReplyDeleteThe vibes created, by the seeds you have planted there, will spread and endure long after you leave that special town. Very Well Done!
Whats the story on Bob? Does he get a say in anything?😰
ReplyDeleteHe's pretty quiet but did provide a prayer during devos one night.
DeletePams mom...
ReplyDeleteTell Kate the experiment with coffee & the sunflower seed is a success. Wayne thinks it will bloom by Sunday.
